CPOG Pizza Pot Pies never disappoint! If you're a fan of cheesy, ooey-gooey, over-the-top delicious pizza, this place is an absolute must. No reservation needed—we walked in and were seated right away. Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin—everything was incredible: the food, the staff, the atmosphere. We started with drinks from the bar and the Mediterranean bread. For mains, we had the classic meat and mushroom pot pie and a special-order vegetarian pot pie—both were phenomenal. We finished with a tortoni to share, and it was the perfect sweet ending—in addition to the honeycomb chocolates. Every single item we ordered is a must-try, and yes—we had plenty of leftovers! Parking can be a bit tricky, but there is valet service available. We ended up finding a parking garage not too far from the restaurant, so it all worked out smoothly.

Truly enjoyed the experience! Some friends decided to get together and suggested meeting at this place. We didn’t mind waiting. The restaurant is super charming. We decided to order Chicago-style pizza pot pie. It is served in a bread bowl with melted cheese, alongside. Some had the One pounder but most of us ordered the Half-Pounder. It is a unique experience. Tastes great , very cheesy and full of rich flavors. The ambient is amazing! They do accept credit cards . Looks like in the past was cash only. Totally recommend and will for sure go back when visiting Chicago.

An incredible hole in the wall spot. They have VERY limited seating but the food is one of a kind. They have a very unique menu but every option is the best thing they have. The pizza and oven grinders for entrees are great but the flatbread and salads for starters may be even better. The two dressings make the entire salad, especially how they recommend you mix them. They have an Italian ice cream that wraps the entire meal up nicely. Make sure you have time to wait, this isn’t something you can usually just pop in at get seating for. I can’t recommend them enough, this place is worth the wait!

Tried Chicago Pizza & Oven Grinder and had a great experience. The signature pot pie was rich, hearty, and full of flavour definitely worth the hype. The salad was fresh and well-balanced, making a perfect complement to the pot pie. Overall, a unique and satisfying meal with great quality food.

From the moment we walked in, the vibe was inviting and warm. We kicked things off with the Mediterranean bread, and let me just say it was a fantastic start. The flavors were bright and fresh, the bread perfectly crusty on the outside and tender on the inside. A great appetizer to share. For entrees, I went with the half pounder Pizza Pot Pie (no mushrooms), and my partner had the full pounder (also no mushrooms). Both were wonderful! We still had leftovers. The dough was pretty amazing, it tasted very fresh. Food arrived in a reasonable window (the server said it would take about a half hour for the pot pie) and the staff was gracious and friendly. The only criticism I have is that I wish they had more customizations for the pizza pot pie. I would have liked sausage or pepperoni. But I am definitely coming back to this tasty local place!

Home of the pot pie pizza. It was really good. The flat bread was great! The dressings were all delicious. Soda, you have to pay for each glass which is a bummer. Tables are small and hard to move food around. Staff is really friendly. It’s worth a stop and the building had a long standing history that you can read about on the menu.

This is a great restaurant. My wife and I saw this on social media and figured we had to try it. From the entrance to the appetizer to the entrée everything felt comfortable, almost like I was at someone's grandma's house. We ordered the bread and the antipasto for our appetizers. They came out fairly quickly. The bread was warm and soft and seasoned with all kinds of goodness. The antipasto was more than enough for a meal for two. We picked our way through the mushrooms and salami and smoked ham and provolone cheese and meatballs until our entrée came out. It was the moment we waited for, the pizza pot pie. It was delicious. The crust was buttery, the cheese was warm and gooey, and the sauce was savory and plentiful. The next time we come back to Chicago we will definitely stop in again.

We stopped in on the recommendation of a Chicago native. This spot is a Chicago iconic staple. We waited a while to get a table which is common during dinner time. We managed to get seats at the bar while we waited. The drinks were poured well! We enjoyed the feel of the restaurant, old school hang out vibe. I highly recommend the flat bread appetizer it was awesome. Everything else we had was great except the meatballs. I wouldn’t go here Al the time but it’s definitely worth trying to experience their unique food.
